Mary Elizabeth Dier, 88, of Hendersonville, NC, died Sunday July 22, 2012 at the Elizabeth House.

Mrs. Dier was born on May 19, 1924 in Chicago, IL to the late John and Francis Michaels Ryan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Donald. S. Dier and a sister Alice Vadalma.

She is survived by her son Jeffery D. Dier of Carlisle, IA and a brother Edward Ryan. Other survivors include several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Dier’s Cremains will be interred by her husband at Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain. No services are planned.
