Don Hemsoth, 93, of Horse Shoe, NC died Thursday August 2, 2012 at 12:45 AM.
A native of Toledo, OH, Mr. Hemsoth enlisted in the Naval Reserve, served 40 months of active duty in WW II as a supply and dispersing officer, and remained in the Reserves, retiring as a Captain after 24 years of service.
He and his wife Alice derived much satisfaction from sharing their time, talent, and treasures with family, church, and community affairs. He retired in 1980 and moved his family from Toledo, OH to Horse Shoe, NC.
He is survived by Alice, his wife of 71 years, a son Gary, four grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a sister Norma Burnham.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to a charity of the Donor’s choice.
