Margaret “Peggy” Pfeiffer Bass age 79 of Flat Rock, NC died Monday, February 25, 2013 at the Elizabeth House of Flat Rock, NC. She was born in Boston, MA on August 29, 1933 daughter of the late John and Sarah Shields Pfeiffer. She was the wife for fifty years of the late Robert E. Bass, Jr.

She was a graduate of Washington Seminary in Atlanta and Agnes Scott College. Prior to moving to Flat Rock in 1991 she lived in San Antonio, TX, Mission, TX, Tampa. Fl., Philadelphia, PA., Lynn, MS., Rantoul, IL., Jonesboro, AK., Rome, GA., and Bowling Green, KY. She was a member of Kenmure Country Club, Hendersonville Country Club, Kenmure Ladies Bible Study and First United Methodist Church of Hendersonville.

Surviving are her two sons , Charles Elliot Bass and his wife Kathy of Snellville, GA., and Dr. Gary Allen Bass and his wife Lisa of Greenville, SC., her grandchildren are Katie Bass of Auburn, AL., and Mason Bass and wife Nikki of Buford, GA and Robert Brittain Bass of Greenville.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, February 28, 2013 at 2:00 PM at First United Methodist Church of Hendersonville. Rev. Dan Martin and Rev. Annie Fritschner will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 at the church prior to the service.
