Edward Earle Johnson, 86, of 2015 Laurel Park Hwy died Tuesday evening at the Hendersonville Health & Rehabilitation Center.
Ed was a native of Saluda, NC but lived the bulk of his adult life in Hendersonville, NC. Prior to settling in Hendersonville, he served in the Navy, fought and was wounded in WWII. He was married to Daisy Stepp Johnson for 65 years. He was a former employee of Oates Paint & Body Shop on Kanuga Rd. for 35 years specializing in auto body paint and repairs.
He is survived by wife, Daisy (83), sons Eddie and Birdie, daughter Janet along with 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Ed was an avid fisherman in WNC and South Carolina Upstate.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday at Thos. Shepherd’s Church Street Chapel with Rev. Wally Shamburger officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Burial will be a Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
