Carl D. Cutshaw, 71, of Fletcher, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at Park Ridge Hospital following a sudden illness.
He was born in Greenville, TN, a son of the late John Anderson Cutshaw and Janie Mae Foster Cutshaw and had been an area resident for most of his life. He was employed by the Strawberry Hill Division of Chase Bag as a product label slicer for over 26 years prior to retiring in 1989. He was a member of Grace Independent Missionary Baptist Church and loved working on older vintage cars.
A loving husband, father, and papaw, he is survived by his wife of forty-three years, Wanda Cutshaw; seven children, Dwayne Cutshaw and fiancée Susan Whitaker of Fletcher, Dennis Cutshaw and his wife Audra of Fletcher, Tony Cutshaw of Fletcher, Jamie Cutshaw and his wife Beth of Mountain Home, Chris Cutshaw and his wife Amanda of Fletcher, Tammy Howard and her husband Scott Riggins of Fletcher, and Roy Sharp and his wife Christie of Fletcher; a brother, Leonard “Joe” Cutshaw and his wife Velda of Fletcher; a sister, Marie Taylor and her husband Genis of Mills River; 18 grandchildren and his faithful dog, Pebbles.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, November 30, 2008 at Fletcher First Baptist Church with Rev. Doug Jones and Rev. Jimmy Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Shepherd Memorial Park. Family will receive friends this evening from 7:00 PM until 8:30 PM at the church.
