Barry E. Clemo, 77, of Hendersonville, passed away Saturday, February 21, 2009 at Memorial Mission Hospital following a short illness.

He was born in Wilmington, DE, the son of the late William and Charlotte Brown Clemo and had been an area resident for many years. He retired from DuPont as a polymer engineer and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was an active community volunteer, working with Four Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care, Camp Merri-Times and Friends of Santa Claus. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Charlotte Stibbins Clemo, who died in 1997, his second wife, Tracy Ward Clemo, who died in 2006, and by a sister, Sheridan DeHart.

He is survived by his step-daughter, Robyn Honora and her husband Richard of Baton Rouge, LA; father and mother-in-law, Max and Peggy Ward of Hendersonville; three grandchildren, Taet Nicole Williams, Richard Mervin Honora, Jr., Derrick Wayne Honora, and nine great grandchildren.

A service to celebrate Barry’s life will be held at 3PM, Sunday, March 1, 2009 at Thos. Shepherd’s Church Street Chapel. Chaplain Jerry Willingham will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Four Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care, 571 S. Allen Rd. Flat Rock, NC, 28731.
