Charles Wayne Hardin, 74, of Hendersonville, died Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at the Elizabeth House.

 

Having lived most of his life in Henderson County, he was the son of the late Mary Belle Pace Hardin and Lother Loon “L. L.” Hardin. He is also preceded in death  by two brothers, Noah “Lee” Hardin and Everette “Bug” Hardin and his wife Martha; and a sister, Lora Hardin Partin.

 

Charles served in the National Guard.  He retired the first time at age 59; and since then, he managed and consulted in manufacturing in various States and Montreal.

 

Charles was a long standing member of West Hendersonville Baptist Church.  He was a part of Blue Ridge Mountain Dancers and Singers.  Charles accepted the Lord as his savior in his thirties.  He enjoyed writing songs to praise the Lord.  Charles was very patriotic and loved his country.  He loved his family and especially loved spending time with his grandsons and teaching them about life, hunting, and fishing.  He loved traveling with his nephew Mark going on great hunting adventures.  Charles use to raise and show irish setters and has recently welcomed sweet Maggie into his flock and he was so proud of her.

 

He is survived by the love of his life, Bennie Leigh Case Hardin. They were about to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary.  Two daughters, Sammie Hardin and Marti Garren and her husband Jason all of Hendersonville; a brother, James “Bob” Hardin and his wife Lynn of Louisanna; grandchildren, Tyler Garren, Taylor Moore Garren, Hunter Garren, Mavrick Garren, and soon to arrive Skyler Garren; a sister-in-law, Carolyn Hardin and many nieces and nephews.

 

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M.  on Sunday, May 19, 2019 at West Hendersonville Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Capps and  Travis Harrison officiating.
