Our Beloved Mother, Lois Pettit Sizemore, 87 , went to rest in the arms of her Lord and Savior, Sunday July 18, 2010 after a long illness with Alzheimer’s disease. Mom lost her battle with Alzheimer’s but never lost her loving spirit and sweet smile. She was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.

Lois was born in Transylvania County on July 19, 1923 a daughter of the late M.A. and Marjie Chapman Pettit. “Granny was a devoted Christian and member of Sunnyview Baptist Church in Fairview. Lois was a talented musician who loved to sing and praise the Lord. She is now singing with the angels in the Heavenly Choir. We thank God for giving us such a loving, precious mother. Words can not express how much we will miss her. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Lenard Sizemore; two sons Troy Sizemore and infant son Bryan Sizemore; three sisters, four brothers and two grand daughters.

Surviving are two daughters, Dorothy Carter and husband Jack of Hendersonville and Brenda Glover and husband Eugene of Nashville, TN.; three sons, Kenneth Sizemore and his wife Evelyn of Mountain Home, Marion “Bo” Sizemore of Hendersonville and Carlton Sizemore and his wife Mary of Hendersonville.; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday July 21, 2010 in Mountain View Baptist Church on Duncan Hill Road by Reverend Leon Allison. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Tuesday at Thos. Shepherd and Sons Funeral Home and all other times at the home of Dorothy Carter.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to all of Mom’s caregivers at Hendersonville Health and Rehabilitation along with Hospice for all their loving care. May God bless each of you.
