Mary Alice Fournier, 97, of Hendersonville, died Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at Brookdale Senior Living.

 

A native of Hamilton Ontario, Canada, she was the daughter of the late James White Forrest and Alice Woolner Forrest.  Mary is also preceded in death by her husband Clarence Fournier, who died in 2010 at the age of 102; and a brother, Robert Joseph Andrew Forrest; and a sister, Alice White Forrest.

 

She and her late husband lived in Detroit, Michigan and Crossville, Tennessee before moving to Hendersonville in 1973 at retirement.  Mary was a member of Mud Creek Baptist Church.  She enjoyed knitting, and volunteered with Toasty Toes in Hendersonville knitting for military soldiers.  Mary loved reading, listening to 40’s music, and enjoyed traveling with her late husband.

 

She is survived by two sons, Marc Fournier and his wife Brenda of Bellevue, Washington and Neil Fournier and his wife Debbie of Mills River; six grandchildren, Kristy Orr, Erin Fournier, Carrie Allen, Andrew Fournier, Elizabeth Fournier, and Kelli Remelski; and ten great-grandchildren.

 

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 P.M. on Sunday, August 11, 2019 at Mud Creek Baptist Church.  The family will receive friends a half hour prior to the service at the church.
