Elroy Charles Conrad, age 76 of Hendersonville, passed away on Wednesday, February 7th, 2018 at 12:50 a.m. He was born December 16th, 1941 in Detroit, MI.

 

He attended and graduated from the Armada School District in Armada, MI and graduated from Wayne State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree. He received his Masters Degree in Chemistry from the State University of New York at Brockport. Elroy Taught Organic Chemistry in the Rush Henrietta School District and was also a partner in the Conrad family business, Armada Products Company. He also founded the Conrad Sales Company.

 

Elroy had a robust love and commitment to family, friends and to the work of his church.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Gregg Conrad, from Albion, NY; his four children, Thayne N. Conrad, Sharon Conrad Frost, Erik Charles Conrad and Kristen Jean Moyer and their spouses; step-children, Gregg W. Moore, D. Todd Moore and Christine Moore Todd and their spouses; sixteen grandchildren; two brothers; one sister; one brother-in-law; one sister-in-law; and by many nieces and nephews.

 

A memorial service will be held in early July in Rochester, New York.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations in Elroy’s memory be directed to Hendersonville Presbyterian Church, 699 N. Grove Street, Hendersonville, NC 28792; or to the Black Mountain Home for Children, 80 Lake Eden Road, Black Mountain, NC 28711.
