Richard A. DalBo, age 75 of Hendersonville, passed away Wednesday, November 29th, 2017 at the Elizabeth House. He was born in Brooklyn, New York; a son of the late Bruno and Louise Cenci DalBo. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Azylan DalBo.

He grew up in Hollywood, Florida and attended college in Pratt, Kansas and was inducted into the Football Hall of Fame. He retired from the banking industry in Hollywood, FL as Vice President of the Mortgage Dept. and a licensed Real Estate Appraiser of a Savings and Loan Company. Prior to his career in banking, he was a former police officer. He moved to Hendersonville where he owned and operated a Real Estate Company.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army, stationed in South Korea where he was a mechanic crew chief. While in the Army, he played Army Football and taught speech classes through Maryland University. Richard was an avid tennis player and instructor, he was also an accomplished artist.

He is survived by his loving wife, Betsy DalBo; daughter, Tami DalBo of Hendersonville; step-daughter, Kellie Marlatt and husband, Jeff of Seneca, SC; sisters-in-law, Ruth Austin of Fletcher, Shirley Pace and Vernie Stepp of Hendersonville; brother-in-law, Kenneth Morgan and wife, Janie of Saluda, NC; as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Dr. James Caserio, whom Richard admired greatly and his staff; Hendersonville Surgical Associates and Staff; Pardee Memorial Hospital and Staff; Brian Center Staff; Home Helpers and Staff; the Elizabeth House Staff; and family and special friends for their care and support during Richard’s lengthy illness.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 9th, 2017 at Shepherd Memorial Park officiated by the Reverend Sherrill Moore.

No formal visitation is planned.

Flowers are greatly appreciated or donations in Richard’s memory may be directed to Blue Ridge Honor Flight, 423 N. King Street, Hendersonville, NC 28793; or to the Elizabeth House, 571 South Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731.
