Marion Fast

October 19, 1924 - January 23, 2019

Marion J. Fast, 94, of Hendersonville, NC, passed away peacefully at 3:05 a.m. Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Carolina Village.

Marion J. Fast, 94, of Hendersonville, NC, passed away peacefully at 3:05 a.m. Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Carolina Village.

 

Marion was born Oct. 19, 1924, in Menasha, WI, to the late Henry P. and Jeanette Miller Kemps.   In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Robert J. Fast who died in 1991; and a son Thomas Fast who died in 2011.

 

Marion lived in Neenah, WI most of her life.  She married Robert J. Fast in 1949.  Marion worked as a secretary for Marathon Corp. post-WWII until the birth of her children, and then used her organizational and social skills for various volunteer organizations until moving to CT in 1967.  While in CT she worked for the Community Foundation of Greenwich, CT for 14 yrs.  She and her husband retired to Hendersonville, NC in 1984. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

 

Marion was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who never knew a stranger & enjoyed talking to everyone she met.  She loved to read, knit & play cards with family & friends.  She will be sorely missed.

 

Surviving are one daughter, Ann Lindquist and her husband Robert of St. Joseph, IL; four grandchildren, Jeffrey Lindquist and his wife Cecilia, Eric Lindquist and his wife Mickalei, Katherine Burness and her husband Evan, and Susan Fast; a brother, Donald Kemps and his wife Trudy of Neshkoro, WI; and seven great-grandchildren.

 

A private graveside service will be held Shepherd Memorial Park.
