Orma P. Vosseller, age 95 of Hendersonville, died peacefully on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at her home. She was born December 30, 1922 in Newstead, New York; a daughter of the late Henry and Katherine Engelhart Peronne. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George V. Vosseller, II in 1990; and by her daughter, Malinda Ann Vosseller in 1985.

 

Orma grew up in Buffalo, New York and graduated Cum Laude from State University of New York at Buffalo with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology. She served as Executive Director of the Niagara County Mental Health Association for many years. Prior to retiring to Hendersonville in 1987, she and her husband resided in Niagara Falls, NY and St. Paul, MN. She was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Hendersonville, where she served on the board of several committees. She enjoyed volunteer work, reading and crocheting.

 

She served actively in several local organizations including, AARP Tax-aide, SHIIP, Park Ridge Hospital Auxiliary and Crime Stoppers.

 

She is survived by her son, George V. Vosseller, III of Hendersonville; daughter, Gretchen V. Curlander and husband, Paul; and by numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Services will be private.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations in Orma’s memory be directed to the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Hendersonville, 409 E. Patterson Street, Hendersonville, NC 28739.
