Onnie Nathan “Toad” Fowler, 88, of Fletcher, passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2020, at Universal Healthcare of Fletcher. He is the son of the late Joseph and Tiny Hyder Fowler. He has been reunited with his wife, Juanita Brackett Fowler, who passed away on November 9, 2013, and his daughter, Connie Fowler Lanning.
Toad was a lifelong resident of western North Carolina. He worked in the farming and sawmill industry.
He is survived by his children David Fowler of Hoopers Creek, Martin Fowler and his wife, Doris of Rutherfordton, Larry Fowler of Tennessee, Ronnie Fowler and his wife, Mary of Mills River, Sharon Hammer and her husband, Bob of Tennessee, Bobby Fowler of Hoopers Creek, and Regina Fowler of Leicester; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will be receiving friends at the home of Ronnie and Mary Fowler at 151 Laurel Terrace Court, Mills River, NC 28759.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 10, 2020, at Hoopers Creek Church Cemetery, officiated by Reverend Keith Russell.

My condolences to Toad's family. He was such a light. He gave me a birdhouse he made and i treasure it, always remembering the sweet man with the hard working hands that made it. He will be missed.
