Ronald Steve Ontko 89, of Hendersonville, died April 2, 2020, at Pardee UNC Health Care. He was born to the late Steve Ontko and Margret Lorincz Ontko in Genessee Depot, Wisconsin.

Ronald Steve Ontko 89, of Hendersonville, died April 2, 2020, at Pardee UNC Health Care. He was born to the late Steve Ontko and Margret Lorincz Ontko in Genessee Depot, Wisconsin.

 

Ronald graduated from Cudahy High school in Cudahy, Wisconsin and served our country in the United States Air Force.  He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Russian Studies from the University of Wisconsin and then his master’s degree in international law from George Washington University. Ronald was employed by the United States governments in several different capacities including within the NSA, at the United States Senate and the US State Department. He was both a Mason and a Shiner and participated in fundraising for numerous children’s charities including The Wheaton Boys Club and The Shiner’s Children’s Hospitals. Ronald was a member of Grace Lutheran Church of Hendersonville.

 

He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-two years Carol Kroeplin Ontko, a son, Andrew John Ontko of Zebulon, North Carolina, a daughter, Julie Ann Ontko Parker and her husband Michael of Mocksville, North Carolina, as well as three grandchildren, Kathrine Parker Wilson and her husband Kevin of Greensboro, North Carolina, John A. Parker of Winston Salem, North Carolina and Andrew Jacob Ontko of Raleigh, North Carolina.

 

A memorial service will be announced once it is appropriate to gather together to celebrate Ronald’s life.
