Sarah, “Pepper” Lee Little Moreno, age 94 of Flat Rock, died Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at the Elizabeth House. She was born December 2, 1924 in Anson County, NC; a daughter of the late Reverend John Richard and Pearl Southerland Little. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Marion Moreno who died in 2000.

 

“Pepper” resided in Henderson County for the last 45 years. She graduated after two years from North Carolina University for Women in Chapel Hill. She was also a member of St. John-in-the-Wilderness Episcopal Church. Sarah enjoyed working with the Episcopal Church women as well as spending her time at the Land O Sky Garden club.

 

She is survived by her daughter, Maria Moreno Johnson and her husband, Martin of Flat Rock, and two grandchildren, Sarah Katherine Blount Johnson and William Martin Johnson Jr. of Flat Rock.

 

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, August 19, 2019 at St. John-in-the- Wilderness Episcopal Church with Reverend Joyce Beschta and Reverend Bill McCleery officiating.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Sarah’s memory be directed to the Blue Ridge Humane Society, 14 Towne Place Drive, #130, Hendersonville, NC 28792.
