Sarah “Sue” Sweeney, 91, of Etowah passed away at the Elizabeth House on December 1, 2019. Sarah “Sue” Sweeney, 91, of Etowah passed away at the Elizabeth House on December 1, 2019. She was the daughter of the late Neal and Edith Norris, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lee Sweeney; daughter, Edie Smith; grandson, Jason Sweeney; brothers, Richard, Mack, and Bill Norris and sister, Ada Orr.

She is survived by a son, Chris Sweeney and his wife Judy; daughter, Terry Hamilton and her husband, Kenny; grandchildren, Shawn Sweeney and his wife, Jodi, Laura Ward and her husband, Travis, Matt Hamilton, Jeremy Sweeney and his wife, Sabrina; great grandchildren, Raven Sweeney, Phoenix Sweeney, Megan Ward,  Dillon Ward, Jonah Sweeney, and Zack Sweeney; brothers, CL and his wife, Marie, Webb “Jack” and his wife, Dottie, Jim and his wife, Peggy, Johnny and his wife Jackie; sister, Lavada Reece and Genieve Ward and her husband, Frankie along with a host of nieces and nephews who loved her very much. She also had many friends who that were very special to her. She treasured the special friendship she had with Shirley Orr.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at Etowah Baptist Church.

Our thanks go out to all the staff at Pardee Hospital and to the Elizabeth House for their excellent service.
