Violet Boone Woody, a longtime Hendersonville resident, passed into Glory on Tuesday, September 26th, 2017. A native of McDowell County, she was the daughter of the late, Willie and Mildred Ellis Boone and the wife of the late, Paul Jennings Woody. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five siblings, Mary Jo Lawing, Vivian Krause, Gene Boone, Jim Boone and Charles Boone.

She is survived by her one son, Paul Dale Woody and his wife, Kim; three daughters, Jill Woody Burke and her husband, Tom, Susan Woody Martin and her husband, Bryan and April Woody Fisher and her husband, Don; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four siblings; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 2nd, 2017 at Shepherd Memorial Park.

Her family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday evening at Thos. Shepherd & Son. At other times the family will be at their respective homes.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations in Violet’s memory be directed to French Broad Baptist Church, 182 Grandview Lane, Hendersonville, NC 28791.
